Contraception

Contraception is the use of various devices, drugs, agents, sexual practices, or surgical procedures to prevent conception or pregnancy. It is also a way to help balance your hormones and control your menstrual cycles.

Contraception is not limited to one type of method. Dr. David Foulk and staff want to ensure you have all the necessary information to choose the method that best suits your family planning and general health.

Most women are aware of the more common forms of birth control that are available (birth control, condoms, diaphragm, patches, and Nuva Ring), but many do not realize there are additional methods to prevent pregnancy and control hormones.

This includes intrauterine devices such as Skyla, Paragard and Liletta. We also offer a thin and flexible arm implant that provides up to 3 years of continuous birth control called Nexplanon. If you are wanting something more permanent and are 100% sure you have completed your family, we can discuss permanent birth control methods such as Essure and Laparoscopic Tubal Ligation.
